Jersey

Jersey

Another knitted fabric is undoubtedly Jersey. This fabric was used by fishermen on the English island located in the English Channel. Considered at the time to be a fabric of no appreciable value and unsuitable for tailoring, its history changed drastically when the designer Coco Chanel began to include it in her ingenious collections.
Today it appears to be one of the fabrics most used in children's clothing. The jersey shirt is a panacea in summer, when the suffocating heat and anticyclones take over, although long-sleeved garments can also be used in autumn and winter.
The main characteristic of this fabric is that it's very adaptable! From men's clothing to female clothing, to footwear, passing through the aforementioned children's collections, lightweight jersey is a fabric that is always present in the wardrobe of those who love lightness and informality.
Its absolute quality is elasticity, but we must not overlook the fact that it is soft, smooth, breathable and also absorbent.
