Denim

Denim

But aren't jeans a fabric?
Nowadays in common usage we mistakenly call the fabric they are made of jeans. But in reality shirts, trousers or any type of denim item is actually made of denim fabric.

Denim, in turn, is the fabric produced as a result of the processing of a type of cotton fiber which is collected, cleaned, combed and transformed into a long, thin rope which is then spun. In fact, denim is a cotton fabric (it can also be composed of cotton mixed with other fibers - such as linen, for example), particularly robust and very resistant to abrasion strong>, so much so that it is immune to post-wash shrinkage.

His name? Also in this case its history starts beyond the Alps, as "Denim" derives from the French expression "serge de Nimes", which refers to a particular type of fabric that was produced in the city of Nimes.
